LifeCare Centre Prahran: Level 1, 316 Malvern Road Prahran
Open Saturdays 2pm to 7pm – Call 9529 8899
Available from March to September 2012
If you’ve injured yourself during weekend sports, you can be treated the same day by a qualified Sports Doctor. Rather than presenting at a regular hospital emergency casualty ward where your needs may be deemed low priority compared to other people’s health emergencies, now you can be seen quickly, with minimal waiting times, by a Sports Medicine Doctor.
These Doctors work full time in Sports Medicine Centres and with sporting teams, guaranteeing expertise in sports injuries and understanding your desire to get back on track as soon as possible. Our radiologists are amongst the most experienced in the country and will work to support the Sports Medicine Doctors.
SIC Project Partners
LifeCare Prahran Sports Medicine and The Avenue Hospital have joined forces to provide this unique Sports Injury Casualty service from March to September 2012.
This project is supported by the following Sports Medicine Doctors and the Victoria House Medical Imaging team:
The service provides prompt, experienced assessment and diagnosis from a Sports Medicine Doctor with comprehensive medical imaging available on site.
Sports people can simply phone LifeCare Prahran on 9529 8899 or go straight to the centre located on Level 1, 316 Malvern Road Prahran.
Sports people can expect to receive prompt attention, unlike at larger casualties where people with sports related injuries are often left waiting. The Sports Injury Casualty service was created with a purpose of reducing waiting times for sports casualties to get the help they need with quick referrals to orthopaedic surgeons at The Avenue Hospital.
There will be no facility fee charged, meaning that out of pocket expenses are minimised.
This is a one-stop service working in conjunction with The Avenue Hospital, meaning fast access to appointments with its internationally renowned Orthopaedic Surgeons if needed.
Such appointments will be available to you early during the following week as a priority.
When you attend, this cost and time-effective service will provide accurate diagnosis and acute treatment including any imaging, as well as have the opportunity to see leading orthopaedic surgeons if necessary.
