Rhiarna graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006 with a Bachelor or Physiotherapy (Honours), and has just finished her Masters of Sports Physiotherapy.
She has spent the last 9 years managing musculoskeletal and sporting conditions in a large private practice, with an emphasis on getting people to their optimal level of activity and function. Rhiarna is very experienced in using exercise based strategies for rehabilitation following injury and surgery, in injury prevention, and in improving performance. Having worked with and consulted for several of Melbourne’s leading orthopaedic surgeons, particularly those specialising in knee injuries, she is very skilled in managing knee conditions from the acute stage through to full return to sport.
Rhiarna has worked with many elite sporting teams, predominantly in the world of football (soccer) including Men’s and Women’s premier league and national league teams, along with junior state programs. She was also fortunate to spend a few weeks with New York City FC in 2015. Rhiarna’s sporting experience also extends to Ultimate Frisbee where she has been the physiotherapist for several Australian teams at World Championship level, and Gymnastics at National Championships.
Rhiarna is trained in the DMA method of Clinical Pilates, and has a long history of individualising this approach to each client’s needs in either one on one sessions or small group classes. Rhiarna is also certified as a PINC physiotherapist, providing exercise based treatment to women with all types and stages of cancer to help improve their level of function and wellbeing.
