Sam has been working as an accredited Exercise Physiologist since 2012, after completing his Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science and Honours by research at Deakin University.
He has recently joined the team at Lifecare Frankston after working at The Sports Clinic of Melbourne in Prahran for 7 years, and also across the Mornington Peninsula. He was introduced to Exercise Physiology as a teenager whilst recovering from his own serious back and knee sporting injuries, and that positive experience grew into where he is now!
Sam has a background working with a wide scope of clientele. He has recently focused on NDIS and DVA clients, but previously worked with post-operative management of Melbourne Orthopaedic Group clients. He also has good exposure to some elite level strength and conditioning due to the networks of his workplace in the city. These include: ‘A’ league and International Level Aussie soccer players, Australian cricketers and AFL players.
Sam finds great joy in assisting clients to achieve their goals through exercise; whether that be an athlete returning to play post injury or developing functional capacity to improve quality of life for a client living with a disability. He believes the health benefits of engaging in physical activity are endless, and when people experience improved functional strength and movement, the associated confidence boost in their body’s ability can be life-changing.
Sport and exercise have always been a huge passion and he currently still plays local football for Mt Eliza FC. Although having no musical talent or ability, Sam loves music and enjoys seeing live music and going to music festivals. Every few years he looks forward to holidays in Greece with his wife, Lucy, to visit her father and can’t wait to take his little 18-month-old daughter, Charlotte, on her first Greek adventure!
