Masters of Podiatric Practice and a Bachelor of Health Science
Harrison graduated from La Trobe University with a Masters of Podiatric Practice and a Bachelor of Health Science.
Harrison’s is our latest member to join the team here at Lifecare and Backfocus and his role will be as a Podiatrist. Having been an avid sportsman all his life and growing up playing sports such as football and basketball, Harrison has had many injuries throughout his career. The impact of these injuries has led to his interest in focusing on sporting injuries and various musculoskeletal conditions of the lower limb and foot through correcting biomechanics. Harrison also enjoys travelling not only Australia but also the world and has recently returned from a four-month holiday through Europe which was highlighted by watching the Socceroos play in Russia for the World Cup.
Whilst Harrison enjoys working with athletes with sporting injuries, he also has an interest in other aspects of podiatry such as orthotic therapy, paediatrics, nail surgery, diabetes management and general care issues such as nails, corns and callous’.
Harrison still enjoys playing competitive sport however, this year he is taking time off to focus on all things Podiatry. He also closely follows the NBA and the Essendon Football Club in the AFL. He has a passion for continual learning about current trends and new information in health and fitness.
The best piece of advice Harrison has been told is “It’s nice to be important but it’s important to be nice”. Harrison’s favorite part about working as a Podiatrist is the instant gratitude that comes across his patient’s faces when the presenting complaint is fixed, whether that be working over a period of weeks rehabbing a patients injury or removing a corn from a patient. The smile that comes across his patient’s faces at the end of each session makes it all worth it.
Feel free to call us up with any foot related issues related so we can get you an appointment to see our latest team member and Podiatrist Harrison Wade.
