Melanie completed her undergraduate degree at Curtin University in 2018. She has since gained experience in working with individuals in the deaf and hard of hearing communities and in soft tissue treatment. During her studies in Psychology, Melanie has also completed a thesis in assessing safety culture within the workplace. Melanie is interested in promoting a holistic approach to assist clients to remain independent within their home and community. Her clinical interests include equipment prescription, home modifications, cognitive assessment, falls prevention, energy conservation, fatigue management, and injury prevention.

Melanie has completed many additional courses, which include:

  • Level 1 and 2 Soft Tissue Course – OT Hand Therapy Interest Group
  • Basic and Advanced Home Modification Courses
  • Pain Management
  • Neurology and Anatomy of the Upper Limb
  • Hand and Upper Limb workshops
  • Mental Health
  • Hand and Brain (PNI and Guided Plasticity)
  • Working with Cancer patients – an OT approach
