On transitioning to physiotherapy, Samantha wants to help rehabilitate people to above their pre-injury level of function. She also has an interest in sporting injuries and helping athletes successfully return to sport. Her treatment incorporates massage, myofascial trigger point release, joint mobilisations, therapeutic ultrasound, taping, movement analysis and exercise prescription.Samantha graduated with a Master of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2018. She has previous experience working in sports science, graduating with a first-class Honours from Deakin University in Victoria. This experience included working in high performance sport, undertaking roles within the Geelong Football Club, the Australian Institute of Sport and as an academic tutor at Deakin University.
Samantha has also undertaken training in Pilates. She believes it’s an excellent way to build a positive mind-body relationship, retrain poor movement patterns, and to strengthen the body to reduce pain and gain confidence.
Samantha also has an extensive experience as an athlete. She has been a representative of Rowing Australia and has also competed internationally as an alpine ski racer. She is currently focused on running and has completed half marathons in Sydney, Gold Coast and Canberra.
Samantha has research published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise (March 2016) and has been involved in further studies investigating whiplash associated disorders.
