Nick Meffin

APA Titled Sports & Exercise Physio, APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist



Nick is a Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who combines evidence-based medicine in combination with the clinical art and a shared decision-making process with his patients. He has completed a postgraduate Masters in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in New Zealand and Masters in Sports & Exercise Physiotherapy at La Trobe in Melbourne. Thus he is passionate about further development and ongoing education.

Nick uses a hands-on approach in combination with exercise-based medicine. This includes shockwave therapy, dry needling, manipulation, and soft tissue mobilisation. His interests lie in Knee’s and Ankle especially postoperative ligaments repairs were he works closely with a number of Melbourne’s leading Sports Physicians and Surgeons.

He enjoys treating people of all ages and especially the more complex cases. He is working closely with Jane Rooney to develop knee rehabilitation and training/rehab principles. During the last 10 years, Nick has worked with many local and representative teams ( 

His sporting involvement is vast including the Auckland Aces (in First class cricket). Assistance roles at Cricket NSW, Cricket Victoria, and Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash throughout his Sports Masters.

Nick is one of our equity partners within Lifecare Prahran Sports Medicine and is the co-clinical director of the Physiotherapy department. He mentors other physiotherapists to develop their skills and help them be more rounded practitioners.

He is the key liaison with the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physician for the Lifecare network in Victoria.

He currently works with the Kilysth Cobras in NBL1

Personal Interests

Outside of work Nick enjoys all sports (Cricket and statistics tragic), going to F45 , cycling, coffee snob, wine tasting and traveling with his young family.
