The Big Local Warm Up: a celebration of living healthy

According to Greek philosopher Epictetus, the key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best.

And so was born the Big Local Warm Up!

If I have learned anything from my 15 years working in the area, it is that community is central to everything, and this event is about bringing some of our community to you.

It’s long been a vision of mine to showcase the amazing providers within our community to a wider audience, to allow them to engage with those nearest and dearest to us and experience the wonderful array of services they provide.

So in no particular order here are the vendors at The Big Local Warm Up, we look forward to seeing you there!

• Claremont Footbal Club – Myself and the team at Lifecare Claremont and Cottesloe have been providing physiotherapy services to this football club for the past 15 years. I can honestly say I love this club and am so proud to be a small cog in a much bigger machine. Their redevelopment is the building block for this event and if you do nothing more than wander around the wonderful precinct you will not be disappointed. Sign up to be a member today. • REVO Fitness – One of our neighbours at Claremont on the Park and the most affordable gym in Perth. With no lock in contracts and only $9.69 per week, get on down to the Big Local Warm Up and get a look at the amazing 24 hour gym and try their fantastic equipment. Their mission statement is to ‘create a gym environment that encourages a healthy relationship with every persons lifestyle and fitness goals’. You won’t be disappointed.
• Bike Bar – Bike Bar was created for life addicts by life addicts. More than a spin class, Bike Bar is a way of life instituted by founders James Dunn and Lauren Cramb. If you haven’t yet experienced a Bike Bar class do yourself a favour and immerse yourself in a dark room with cracking music and forget you are even exercising. I’m a life addict, how about you?
• F45 Nedlands – F45 is the fastest growing franchise in Australia and the fourth largest in the world and this isn’t surprising when you join the HIIT workout. Half the team at Lifecare Claremont and Cottesloe are members at F45 Nedlands and the community feel to Andrew Moullin’s studio is one of its greatest assets. Get down and get a body scan at the Big Local Warm Up and get to know the team today.
• Tamara Yoga – Having been a fixture within the western suburbs health and wellness community for numerous years Tamara Yoga joins us at the Big Local Warm Up with a wealth of experience, knowledge and soul. Come down and experience yoga on Claremont Oval conducted by our wonderful friend Steph Johnson.
• Motion Lifestyle – Having opened in Cottesloe in 2015 and only just this week opening a sister store in South Perth, Motion Lifestyle have been outfitting the women of the Western Suburbs in the stylish manner that only they know best. We can’t wait to see and try all the wonderful new styles available.
• BRUCE Apparel – Bruce was born when a group of local great men got together and questioned why do girls get all the fun of living their lives in their activewear. Designed for men who like to work out. Who loves the outdoors. Who like to look good in apparel that is comfortable, is ecologically friendly, and simply looks stylish and masculine. The beauty of BRUCE Apparel is you will be just at comfortable wearing it running around the park, or playing tennis, or doing 10 chins at the local monkey bar as you would be having a couple of beers off the wood with the boys on a Saturday afternoon. • The Athletes Foot Claremont – Craig and Michelle Docherty have a passion for properly fitted footwear and ensuring the needs of athletes everywhere. With staff trained second to none in the latest footwear and appropriate fit they are our first call when it comes to our patients needs. Come down and get someone to determine your fit!!
• Lauren Pavlich – Lauren has been a part of our clinic in one way or another since 2008. She is a qualified physiotherapist and clinical Pilates instructor with a background in exercise physiology. Since becoming a mother she has combined her wealth of knowledge with information about essential oils and how they can enhance health and wellness in every day life.
• Bodyright Massage – Our resident massage therapists will be on hand Saturday to help knead out some aches and pains with seated massage. As provider of massage services to the Perth Wildcats, Australian Boomers, Fremantle Dockers and the Western Force you know you are in good hands with Bodyright.
• Made Juice – Originating from a desire to produce a line of cold-pressed juices that were both delicious to drink and beneficial for over-all health. • Hello Tiger – Our next door neighbour at the Claremont precinct, Hello Tiger will be preparing wholesome, hearty food and helping you with a caffeine fix. Get on down and experience all they have to offer.
• Flight Centre – Nothing is more healthy than a holiday. Come down and visit Josh and the team from Flight Centre Claremont as they show us some of their great wellness getaways. They will be joined by Viv from Healthwise who can teach us how to stay active and healthy on holiday.
• Lucent Claremont – What better way to experience the Claremont precinct than be there for the Tower Launch for Lucent Claremont’s architecturally designed apartments that offer refined living with elegant and sophisticated resident’s amenities.
