Stephanie Tang - Physiotherapist

Stephanie’s philosophy to injury management is that it needs to be proactive and holistic in nature, empowering patients with knowledge of their injury and providing a treatment plan to positively enhance the recovery process. Hence, Stephanie’s focus as a clinician has always been about assessing and diagnosing an injury in a holistic manner, to ensure that the cause of the problem is addressed and that treatment is not solely aimed at addressing the presenting symptoms.

Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 2001 at University of Sydney.

She has worked in the various established multi-disciplinary practices across the industry over the past 14 years and her main interest lies within musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Stephanie’s specific areas of interest lies in the pelvis, spine, ribs, and in specific functional rehabilitation incorporating the application of clinical pilates as part of this process.

She have also been involved in various sporting teams including Mounties Football Club (1st grade and under 20s) of the State League Division One Competition and under 21s NSW Women’s Hockey team. Other sports of interest include running, cycling, dancing, snow sports and martial arts. She also has an interest in treating ante- and post-natal patients.

Stephanie utilises an array of manual therapy treatments including Muscle Energy Techniques and cranial sacral therapy in her practice. Self management and specific exercise rehabilitation is also paramount in one’s injury management. Hence, she is particularly interested in correcting movement dysfunctions and non optimal postural behaviours in her clinical practice.

She has experience running small group pilates and functional core classes and has also provided one on one pilates sessions, aimed at designing a specific individualised pilates and functional based exercise programme for different patient groups, from sports specific rehabilitation to ante- and post- natal mums. She has also utilised the Real Time Ultrasound to aid in patients’ core stability and functional retraining process.

Outside of physiotherapy, Stephanie enjoys being a doting mum to her young daughter, going to Barre Classes, gym training, pilates and dejaying.
