Francis graduated from Griffith University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Exercise Science. He quickly developed an interest in a variety of physiotherapy disciplines including dry needling, geriatric care and Pilates; however his real passion is in sports physiotherapy. His passion for sports physiotherapy is undoubtedly from representing the Queensland Academy of Sports (QAS) in soccer for 3 years. He later went to France to play for division one side Lorient (U18) for a season before returning home to play for the Queensland senior team.
Since joining LifeCare in March 2013 Francis has had the opportunity to work with the Northern Knights, and the Northern Blues. Through this experience Francis has developed a passion for treating lower limb injuries such as pelvic girdle dysfunction, gluteal tendinopathy, hamstring injuries, ACL rehabilitation and ankle injuries. He has also been busy further developing his skills in Pilates by completing his training at Balance and Control Pilates. His approach to Pilates is a blend of traditional and modern Pilates with a strong focus on breathing and pelvic floor activation.
Francis not only draws on his knowledge of both Exercise Science and Physiotherapy but his experience as an elite junior athlete provides him with a comprehensive perspective on strength and conditioning and injury management.
