Nikki Cummings is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD); she completed her nutrition degree, Graduate Diploma in Dietetics and her PhD at Curtin University. Her first role as a dietitian took her to Canberra where she held the position of Food Service and Sports Dietitian at the Australian Institute of Sport; she assisted in the preparation of our Australian athletes in the lead up to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.
Since returning to Perth at the end of 2000 she has run her Nutrition business (Optimal Intake) from St John of God Medical Clinic in Murdoch. She offers individual counselling sessions along with interactive group talks and cooking sessions. Nikki also teaches at Edith Cowan University. Nikki is co-author of the AIS’ Survival for the Fittest cook book and author of a chapter in the International Sports Nutrition text book, Clinical Sports Nutrition.
Nikki has further training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy and uses mindful eating principles to guide clients into developing a better relationship with food and eating.
Nikki works with clients to master the art of eating for optimal physical and mental health by helping to decipher the complex nutrition messages.
In her spare time you will find Nikki running, swimming, playing at the beach with her family or enjoying a good cup of coffee in Fremantle.
