Holly's East Freo Sharks Season Wrap

Another WAFL season wrapped up.

The best part about working at East Fremantle Football Club is the people, and this year is up there with one of my favourite seasons yet. I have been so fortunate to meet and work alongside such talented coaches, support staff and players.

AFL is renowned for its high intensity and contact heavy gameplay. Working with the colt’s program is a unique experience. These young athletes are at a critical stage – still physically developing and balancing life outside of football. This places a huge emphasis on strength and conditioning, load management and recovery. Our goal is to prepare the players for senior football by teaching them how to listen to their bodies, communicate with support staff and be proactive with injury prevention.

The colt’s had an awesome year winning 8 consecutive games midway through the season. I am so proud of the 2025 squad for finishing so strong and making it into the Preliminary Final.

As the players have transitioned into the off-season, the focus switches to rest, recovery and rebuilding. The Lifecare Point Walter team are currently preparing to start musculoskeletal screening assessments on the 2026 colts and futures squads.

I have no doubt the sharks will be back next year, stronger than ever!
