Marinus Du Plessis

Physiotherapist

Marinus has had an interest in sporting and exercise since his teenage years. Watching one of his best mates Tom step into the world of physiotherapy inspired him to pursue a career in it himself.

A consistent variety of injuries has given Marinus a good understanding of how pain can behave and alter how the body moves, giving him an appreciation for the struggles of rehabilitation, both physically and psychologically.

He originally lived in South Africa in his youth, but having moved to Australia in 2006, he has built some meaningful connections within the Willetton Community. He has worked as an assistant sports trainer at Canning City Football Club for 2 years, followed by working as the sole sports trainer for Gosnells City Football Club for 2 years. He plans to continue working with sporting clubs to aid with rehabilitation and return to performance.

Marinus has an interest in sports related injuries in high intensity sports such as soccer and basketball. He also has an interest in ankle and knee related injuries, shoulder related injuries and helping people overcome them. He aspires to engage in a variety of professional development opportunities to continue to upskill and specialise within aspects of Physiotherapy to provide the best care available.

Marinus enjoys helping people overcome their pain and return to doing the things they love, whether that means returning to their sport, returning to work, or managing their daily lives more comfortably and confidently.
