Bio
Laurel is an experienced Sports Physiotherapist who has worked at SJOG Murdoch since 2000.
A graduate of The University of Sydney (Physiotherapy,1992) and Curtin University (Master of Sports Physiotherapy, 1999), Laurel has worked in a variety of clinical areas including in-patient orthopaedics and geriatric rehabilitation, Clinical Pilates, Musculoskeletal physiotherapy and Sporting teams.
At Southcare Laurel consults in the clinic where she provides evidence-based practice in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal, spinal and sporting injuries. She is an advocate for Clinical Pilates as an adjunct to rehabilitation and has extensive experience in post operative rehabilitation of the lower limb. Laurel has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of adolescent conditions and the management of sporting injuries in the child and young adult population. She works with fellow health professionals to provide a comprehensive rehabilitation and a safe return to pre-injury activities.
Laurel is a former captain of the Australian Women’s Volleyball Team and has had success at National Competition and World Masters Games. She is a National and FIVB qualified coach who is actively involved coaching WA State Junior and Senior Teams. Laurel is the Head Coach (Women) for Southern Cross Volleyball Club, who are the WA State League Champions. Laurel was a volunteer Physiotherapist at the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
