Andrew Smythe - Physiotherapist

Qualifications:  Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Monash University

Introduction:  Very actively involved in sports from a young age, Andrew quickly developed a love for playing sports, however being injury prone led him to spend a lot of time in physiotherapy clinics along the way. During these visits Andrew became fascinated with how the human body worked and repaired itself which started him on the path towards becoming a physiotherapist.

Andrew further developed his interest and skills in sporting injury management through working with the Mt Eliza football club and junior South Metropolitan interleague football squads for the past 3 years. He has also worked with basketball teams and as an assistant physiotherapist for the Southern Stars State League soccer team.

Andrew strives to provide effective and appropriate treatment geared towards reaching the goals set by patients.

Professional Interests:  Andrew’s areas of professional interest include sporting injury management and prevention, tendon disorders, shoulder dysfunction and degenerative disease management.

He utilises a wide array of treatment modalities such as soft tissue massage, stretching, exercises and conditioning programs. 

Personal Interests:  In his spare time Andrew loves to play the drums and write music with his friends. He also regularly plays basketball, goes to the gym, walks his dogs daily and loves heading up to the mountains with friends to snowboard.
