APA Titled Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, Masters of Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
Namita is a Sports and Musculoskeletal physiotherapist with over 14 years of experience. She completed her undergraduate degree in India in 2007, followed by the completion of her Masters Degree in Manual and Sports Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 2009. She has worked in hospitals, has extensive work history in private practice, tutored and worked as a Clinical educator at University of South Australia’s School of Physiotherapy.
Her treatment methods include combining Manual therapy and exercise prescription strengthening work and big emphasis on education for all Musculoskeletal and Sports Injuries.
She started her Physiotherapy Career in Australia post her Masters at Dance Medicine Australia (DMA) Clinical Pilates and Physiotherapy in Melbourne where she had the opportunity to work with the Director Craig Philips and became a qualified as a Clinical Pilates physiotherapist. She then went on to working in private practices specialising in Sports and Musculoskeletal physiotherapy in Adelaide and Melbourne. Her keen interest in teaching got her into Tutoring and working as Clinical educator for final year physiotherapy students at UNISA .She also worked as a Research assistant at UNISA learning and expanding her research knowledge and skills.
Her Keen interest in Sports Physiotherapy, Pilates and Manual Therapy bought her to back to Melbourne where she started has continued to expand and incorporate her Manual and Sport exercise prescription here lifecare Latrobe along with expanding her Sports knowledge and experience.
Over the last few years Namita had the opportunity to travel and work as Sports physiotherapist with the following teams:
- Under 15 girls –Hockey National Championship in Wollongong , April 2018
- Hockey Men’s Masters in Ballena and Lismore , Sep 2018
- Under 21 Girl’s Indoor Hockey Tournament in Goulburn , Jan 2019
- The Ivor Burge Championship for Basketball at the AIS in Canberra
- VFL team – Coburg Lions.
Her Work with the Ivor Burge Team got her to get selected for the Physiotherapist Position for the Australian Girls Team – Australian Pearls for the Global Games in Brisbane in October 2019.
Her keen interest in Teaching has led her to tutor on the APA (Australian Physiotherapy Association) course with Specialist Sports Physiotherapist Trish Wisbey Roth On cervical and thoracic mobilisation and treatment in Merimbula in 2018 and recently in Melbourne in 2022.
Her Special Interest include working with sports specially Basketball , Hockey ,Athletics , Soccer, Footy and Cricket . Namita also has special interest in working with Women in sport or the Female Athlete having recently completed a 1 month course last year at La Trobe University and treating adolescent sports injuries and growing pains .
