What is pre and post natal exercise?
The benefits of exercise are well known and varied, however during the pre and postnatal period it is especially important to exercise in the correct manner. Our pre and post natal exercise sessions are under the supervision of a physio. They are often inspired by Pilates and are modified to best support your body’s needs.
What can pre and post natal exercise help with?
Pregnancy and early post-partum can be a physically challenging time for women as their body undergoes a series of changes.
During pregnancy, specific exercises are recommended by your physio to help manage and prepare your pelvic floor and minimise overall body aches and pains.
Following birth, returning to non-impact exercise will help to strengthen your abdominals and pelvic floor which can be extremely important for a healthy recovery.
What else do you need to know about pre and post natal exercise?
Prior to commencing a pre or post natal exercise session, you will require a physio assessment to discuss your goals and identify the best exercise program for you.
Is a GP referral required?
No GP referral is required to see a physio for this service.
Can I claim this service as an extra on my health insurance policy?
Physio sessions may be claimed on private health insurance depending on your level of cover, please check with your private health insurance provider.
