Biography
Mel is originally from country NSW and has recently moved to Melbourne after spending the last 3 years working in Manchester, UK.
Mel has a lifelong love of sport having trained and competed in gymnastics, swimming, judo, Brazilian jiu jitsu, MMA and Alpine ski racing where she spent 13 years as a member of the Australian Para-Alpine ski team and is a 4 x Paralympian.
She has a strong interest in working with athletes and active individuals, helping them move from the acute injury stage, guiding them through rehabilitation and helping them reach their life and performance goals. Mel loves using a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to treatment to ensure that every client’s individual injury experience is respected to achieve the best outcomes.
Mel has additional training in dry needling, Shockwave, massage therapy and gained a lot of valuable experience spending the first few years of her physiotherapy career integrating clinical Pilates into patient care.
Mel spent 6 years as the physiotherapist for a semi-professional rugby league club, and currently works with a variety of Australian Para-sport teams. She also has a special interest in treating combat and winter sports injuries.

When not working you will find Mel planning her next overseas adventure, drinking all the great coffee in Melbourne, skiing, reading, lifting heavy things in the gym and training and competing in Brazilian jiu jitsu
